The Department of Native Hawaiian Health (DNHH) is administratively housed in two adjacent locations: The Kakaʻako campus and offices at 677 Ala Moana Blvd (the old Gold Bond building). The Kakaʻako campus located at 651 Ilalo St. is a world-class, state-of-the art education and research complex, consisting of an Education/Administration Building and a Biomedical Research Facility. There is approximately 1,200 square feet of office at JABSOM, with an additional 3,000 square feet of office and clinical space (Lau Ola Clinic) located at 677 Ala Moana, which is a five minute walk from the JABSOM campus. Our Medical Education Division which includes ʻImi Hoʻōla and Native Hawaiian Center of Excellence (NHCOE) is located on the third floor of the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) in the Medical Education Building at 651 Ilalo Street in Kakaʻako.
Our Epigenomic Lab, a part of our Research Division, is located on the second floor of the Biomedical Research Building. Both buildings are located on the JABSOM Kakaʻako campus.
The 677 Ala Moana offices house Leadership and Department Administration as well as the Research, Community Engagement and Clinical Teaching and Patient Care divisions.
Both facilities provide an environment fostering research, education and service with a unique emphasis on the ethnic, cultural and environmental characteristics of Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.
