Ho’omaika’i Dr. Kamaka, for 20 years of service!
Instead of a full-seated auditorium there was a collage of faces on Zoom. There was no round of applause but congratulatory comments still flooded a chat box. In a world where many work situations have become vastly digital to support the “new normal” during the pandemic, the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) medical school recognizes those who put in their best efforts day in and day out keep the school in tip-top shape. At the UH John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) General Faculty Meeting in December 2020, three outstanding JABSOM faculty were honored among their peers for reaching milestone markers in their service to JABSOM: Drs. Henry Lew (10 years), Steve Ward (20 years) and Martina Kamaka (20 years).
“Congratulations to all,” said JABSOM Dean Jerris Hedges. “We (at JABSOM) cannot do this without the support and engagement and leadership that our faculty provide.”
